Reasons You’ll Love This Recipe:

These chocolate bird nests cookies are such a delightful little Easter treat — one my whole family loves!

  • No-Bake – a no bake treat is always an easy, fun treat to make (especially with your kids!)
  • Delicious Flavor – I mean, can you ever go wrong with the chocolate peanut butter combination?
  • Four Ingredients – so much simplicity with these treats!
  • Higher Fiber – I use a high fiber cereal for the birds nest “twigs” to help add a boost of fiber and nutrients, giving 5 grams of fiber per no bake cookie.

Ingredient Notes & Substitutions:

For a full ingredient list with quantities, please check out the recipe card at the bottom of this post.

  • High Fiber Cereal – I use Fiber One Original cereal here, but you can substitute a similar “twiggy” cereal.
  • Chocolate – I like semisweet or dark chocolate chips in this recipe, but you can use milk chocolate if you prefer (or even white chocolate).
  • Peanut butter – you want to use a creamy peanut butter, and you can substitute almond butter or sunflower seed butter, too.
  • Cadbury mini eggs – these delicious little mini eggs are arranged on top of the no bake cookies to make the eggs on the birds nest.

How to Make Chocolate Bird Nests

For complete instructions, please check out the recipe card at the bottom of this post.

Add the chocolate and peanut butter to a microwave-safe container and heat until melted. Stir smooth.

Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the high fiber cereal and stir until every piece is generously covered.

Scoop the mixture onto a parchment-lined sheet pan. Add a trio of chocolate Cadbury eggs on top of each no bake cookie to create a chocolate bird nest. Refrigerate until set.

Tips and Variations

  • Nut-Free chocolate egg cookies are easily made by using sunflower seed butter instead of peanut butter.
  • Add hemp hearts to the chocolate cereal mixture for another boost of nutrition, adding a little protein and healthy fats.
  • Use a silicone muffin pan to press the chocolate cereal mixture into instead.
  • Reduce added sugar by using a no added sugar chocolate and peanut butter.
