  • Strawberries for our red fruit.
  • Mandarin oranges for our orange fruit.
  • Pineapple for yellow.
  • Kiwi, peeled and chopped, for green.

  • Honey Lime Dressing – all you need is honey and the juice and zest of one lime.

How to Make Honey Lime Rainbow Fruit Salad

For complete instructions, please check out the recipe card at the bottom of this post.

It’s fairly simple – chop all the fruit into bite-sized pieces, then place into a large bowl. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the honey, lime juice, and lime zest, then pour over the fruit and gently toss until all fruit is lightly covered.

Tips and Variations

  • Switch up the fruit! Use whatever is in season, whatever you prefer, etc.
  • If you use fruits like bananas and apples, just note that they can show more browning.
  • This fruit salad is best consumed fresh. The longer you store it, the more juices get leeched out.
  • You can use lemon instead of lime.
  • Swap the honey for your preferred liquid sweetener of choice, including non-nutritive sweeteners (like monk fruit or allulose syrup).

Fruit Salad Storage

Store fruit salad covered in a large, airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.

While you can technically freeze fruit, I don’t recommend freezing fruit salad because the texture of the fruit changes entirely too much after thawing. Alternatively, you could blend the fruit salad, then pour into popsicle molds and freeze those!
