It’s almost time for Amazon Prime day!
I looooovvvvve Amazon Prime. I mean, I’ve used Amazon forever, but especially since becoming a work-at-home mom to a toddler that’s with me most of the day, making the switch to Amazon Prime has made my life so much easier! Call me crazy, but sometimes if I need a gift for someone it’s just way easier to browse Amazon, order, and have it delivered in a couple days than it is to take a toddler to a store and browse around for the perfect gift (moms, I’m sure you’re all laughing with me at the idea of leisurely browsing stores with a toddler in tow). 😉
Plus, whether it’s stocking up on some of my favorite healthy additions to my pantry or looking for new appliances, Amazon is my go-to for pricing out quality items to get the best deal and to read reviews. Since Prime Day (aka tons of sales available exclusively to Prime members) is almost upon us, I polled on Instagram and the overwhelming majority wanted to know my must-have Amazon kitchen essentials. I focused on tools I use near-daily in my kitchen at a variety of price points. Let me know if you have questions!
First up on my list of Amazon kitchen essentials – a Vitamix blender! I know a Vitamix is a big investment. But it’s just that – an investment. I’ve had a refurbished Vitamix 5200 Blender since 2009 and we still use it nearly every day. Not just for smoothies either – yes, we often make smoothies and even juices in it, but we also use it for making purees, soups, sauces, salad dressings, nut butters, grinding gluten-free oats for oat flour, pancake and muffin batters, salsas, banana ice cream, and so. much. more. I don’t like wasting so I can’t justify buying a new one until this one dies (ha, which I’m honestly not sure will ever happen at this point!) but I’m eyeing this Vitamix Professional Series 750 Blender when it does. Especially because it has the shorter/ wider container so it’ll fit under cabinets easier!
Try these NTF blender recipes: Banana Buckwheat Pancakes, Tomato Basil Chicken Kabobs, Cilantro Lime Dressing, Agua Frescas, Healthy Mint Chocolate Chip Popsicles
Love my cast iron skillet! It gives the most amazing sear and crispness to anything from tofu to steak. I use mine nearly every time I cook because it creates amazing products, but also has some health benefits. Did you know that cooking with cast iron allows trace amounts of the iron to be absorbed into the cooking food? This can be particularly helpful for vegetarians and vegans. The Lodge cast iron skillets come pre-seasoned and in a variety of sizes. Pictured is the 10.25-inch Lodge cast iron skillet and I also have the 12-inch Lodge cast iron skillet. To clean, you don’t want to use soap. Lodge sells some tools to help clean your cast iron, like these pan scrapers and brush. I usually use the rough side of a sponge (no soap!) and hot water and then dry with paper towels. Since I use mine so frequently I don’t worry too much about seasoning it between uses, but if you use it occasionally you can lightly rub your cast iron with a high-heat oil and then place in your oven on a low heat setting for 30-60 minutes.
These NTF recipes are perfect for your new cast iron: Mango Chicken Salad with Cilantro Lime Dressing, Vegetable Herb Quinoa Pilaf, Prosciutto Green Beans, Shakshuka, Greek-Inspired Lemon Skillet Potatoes
If you have any desire to spiralize vegetables, do yourself a favor and use the Inspiralizer. Created by Ali of Inspiralized, this Inspiralizer is by FAR the absolute best spiralizer I’ve tried (and I’ve tried several). It’s crafted very well and can be used on tougher vegetables, like butternut squash and sweet potatoes. It’s also the safest and sturdiest spiralizer we’ve used (no more battle wounds from dinner prep!). While I don’t use it daily, I had to include it in my Amazon kitchen essentials list because I truly believe this is the best spiralizer you can find and it’s a really fun kitchen addition for anyone wanting to add more fruits and veggies to their days!
These Nutrition to Fit recipes all use an Inspiralizer: Zucchini Noodle Summer Corn Chowder, Spiralized Cucumber Sesame Salad, Zucchini Noodle Caprese Salad, Butternut Sage Carbonara
Definitely a daily used item – both the regular-sized silicone spatulas for scraping the sides of my mixing bowl to cooking scrambled eggs, and the mini silicone spatula. You’d be surprised how often you’ll find yourself reaching for the mini spatula! Whether I’m scraping something out of a measuring cup, scraping the bottom of the peanut butter jar, and more, there are a ton of uses!
Use your spatulas to scrape down these bowls: Salted Caramel Apple Butter, Oatmeal Banana Muffins, Avocado Veggie Egg Salad, Blueberry Matcha Overnight Oats, Green Smoothie Oatmeal
Funny story – I didn’t see the point of having a “fish spatula” like this but my husband was convinced we needed it. About five minutes into cooking with it and I knew he was right (don’t tell him I said that 😉 ). This KitchenAid Gourmet Stainless Steel Flex Turner is the exact spatula that we have and use every.single.time. we cook anything that requires maneuvering in the pan: tofu, chicken, fish, grilled sandwiches, vegetables, pancakes – I mean seriously, everything. 100% a go-to, daily-used tool in our house. Absolutely an Amazon kitchen essential!
You’ll need your flex turner with these recipes: Pumpkin Falafel, Sweet Potato Bowls, Easy Sheet Pan Lemon Sesame Salmon, Banana Bread Baked Oatmeal, Asparagus Ricotta Frittata
While these aren’t the exact bamboo salt and pepper grinders I have, I have a set that I first got back in college (the first time, for my music degree!) that I still use to this day. I love a pepper grinder especially, because when it has an adjustable grinder like these do, you can adjust for a finer grind of pepper (something I tend to use more on fish, chicken, or vegetables), or a coarser grind (which I may save for marinades or steak). Plus I love the bamboo option, as it’s a more sustainable option that still looks nice in my kitchen.
Add plenty of seasoning to these dishes! Mexican Chicken Chili, Freezer Fajita Chicken, Grilled Hasselback Potatoes, Freezer Tomato Sauce, Twice Baked Potatoes
Also on the daily used list are these knives. We got our knife block set a decade ago when we got married, so I’m not finding the exact set I have but this is the closest. When I registered for it I remember thinking, it’s J.A. Henckles so I felt confident in the quality. It’s a comprehensive 15-piece set so it has most everything you could need. It’s also priced very affordably compared to how steep some quality knives can get, making it an excellent choice for home cooks looking to up their knife game! One other game-changer in our knife game has been a knife sharpener similar to this knife sharpener that we were gifted one holiday. Dull knives do not belong in a kitchen (so many safety concerns!), so occasionally I’ll run our knives through this sharpener and it’s a total game-changer! Sharp knives for the win!
Practice your knife skills here! Grilled Watermelon Skewers, Sunflower Seed Tabbouleh Salad, Blueberry Panzanella Salad, 5-Minute Broccoli Kale Quinoa Salad, Blood Orange Rosemary Salmon en Papillote
Next up on my list of Amazon kitchen essentials is a quality stainless steel cookware set. This pictured set is similar to the Calphalon stainless steel cookware set we registered for our wedding 10 years ago. It’s reasonably priced for a variety of pots and pans that will allow you to cook many things at home.
Use your new pots and pans with these NTF faves: 3-Ingredient Black Bean Soup, Chicken Philly Quinoa Bowls, Spiced Sweet Potato Carrot Soup, Vegan Creamed Corn, Gluten-Free Green Bean Casserole
I have several different brands of sheet pans, but I use them frequently for roasting vegetables for easy meal prep to quick and easy weeknight sheet pan dinners! Also, can’t forget cookies – what’s a healthy lifestyle without an occasional treat? 😉
These NTF sheet pan recipes are always a hit! Sheet Pan Pineapple Salmon Stir Fry, Sheet Pan Adobo Lime Portobello Tacos, Sheet Pan Chicken & Veggies, Sheet Pan Orange Ginger Chicken & Broccoli, Sheet Pan Smoky Spiced Lemon Chicken Leg Quarters
I’m a big advocate of switching to glass storage containers over plastic, for both health reasons and the environment, so obviously they made my Amazon kitchen essentials list! I use glass containers for packing meals to go, meal prep, leftovers, etc. Since they’re glass they’re also safe for the microwave, oven, fridge, and freezer. I have glass containers that have plastic lids, which I don’t recommend – the lids split and crack over time, so I’m actually looking for glass containers with snap lids like pictured above myself this Prime Day! I also love using mason jars, in 16-ounce sizes and wide-mouth quart sizes. We use these for storing bulk goods like grains, flours, beans, and seeds, holding a large smoothie, making overnight oats, and more.
Use your glass containers with these make-ahead and on-the-go recipes: Spiced Turmeric Overnight Oats, Chocolate Banana Kefir Chia Pudding, Roasted Vegetable Meal Prep, Coconut Lime Chicken Collard Wraps, Greek Lentil Power Bowls.
There you have it! My top ten healthy kitchen essentials that can be found on Amazon! These Amazon kitchen essentials can all be bought anytime, so be sure to save this list to Pinterest if you’re planning on creating a wedding registry soon, or for future holiday gift ideas.
