A Day in the Life of a Work at Home Mom & Dietitian Entrepreneur

Welcome to a day in my life! πŸ˜‰Β For this month’s WAHpreneur post, Katie and I are sharing a peek into our daily lives! Check out her post to see her day as a mama of 3 boys (and 2 businesses!)

I 100% need to start by sayingΒ every single day is different.Β Even this week alone, no day was alike! Some days have more of an emphasis on recipe development and photography, others writing, others working with clients, and many others with various behind the scenes work Β (marketing, advertising, social media, content planning, research, continuing education, washing dishes from all the recipe testing πŸ˜‰, etc.) Honestly though? I love all the diverse things I get to do and challenge myself with! There’s never a dull moment, that’s for sure!

A day in the life of a work at home mom/ dietitian/ blogger/ recipe developer/ entrepreneur of a 9 month old baby!

Here’s a glimpse into one day around Nutrition to Fit land. πŸ˜‰

6:00-7:00 AM: Sometimes I’m able to get some work done before baby’s up for the day, sometimes not. This morning I took care of a few emails and finished transferring my intake form to a secure, online form client can electronically complete.

7:00-7:45 AM: Baby is up! I always go in and nurse her and steal some cuddles first thing. πŸ™‚ Then change her and we usually play in the nursery before breakfast.

7:45-8:25 AM: Breakfast routine, which lately consists of giving her a small handful of Cheerios while I get a few other things together for us to share (like scrambled eggs, omelette with leftover veggies, yogurt and fruit, toast, etc.). Then we eat and I clean her and the kitchen up.

8:25-9:10 AM: Get both of us ready. This takes a lot longer lately due to playing referee and making sure she’s not getting into trouble. πŸ˜‰

9:10-9:50 AM: Walk! One of our favorite times of the day!

9:50 – 10:00 AM: Come back, get us both water, put baby down for her morning nap, and collect the materials I prepped last night for today’s calls.

10:00-10:30 AM: Clarity call (a free 30 minute call I offer to prospective clients!)

10:30-11:00 AM: Send a follow up email from the call, take care of a couple other emails, hop onto social media to post for the day and reply to some comments.

11:00-11:20 AM: Brief strength workout and lots of stretching!

11:20 AM – 12:00 PM: Baby is up and we do our post-wake up routine of nurse, change, play. Currently she’s loving playing with blocks, ripping junk mail, and cruising around her room.

12:00 – 12:10 PM: Chop a sheet pan of veggies and tofu for lunch for us/ dinner for dad. She (surprisingly) hung out super chill in her highchair during this time.

12:10-12:30 PM: Play while lunch is cooking!

12:30 – 1:15 PM: Lunchtime! After lunch I clean her and the kitchen up, then package up leftovers for my husband’s dinner.

1:15-2:45 PM: Play time!

2:45-3:00 PM: Go play outside waiting for my husband to get home from work (he’s a high school teacher). She plopped herself in grass and proceeded to have a wonderful time pulling up grass and throwing it in the air. πŸ™‚

3:00-3:30 PM: Daddy’s home! Hand her over to him, I take a quick shower. 3:15 put the baby down for afternoon nap. Make sure I have my stuff together for a couple more calls.

3:30-3:45 PM: Follow up client call.

3:45-4:15 PM: Check in on social media, start working on this post.

4:15-4:45 PM: Second clarity call of the day!

4:45-5:00 PM: Send follow up email, pose a question to a mastermind community I’m in on Facebook, tie up a couple lose ends.

5:00-5:30 PM: Husband leaves to go back to work for his school’s open house night. Pack up the baby and head over to my parent’s house.

5:30-7:15 PM: My mom graciously offered to make dinner this night, so we ate with my parents and played until she got super cranky from teething and being tired.

7:15-7:30 PM: drove around a little extra/ took a long way home because she was calm in the car. πŸ˜‰

7:30-8:00 PM: She and I are both exhausted. Typically we do stories now but she was not having it tonight. I nurse her and then I ended up randomly finding Baby Einstein on YouTube and she had her first Baby Einstein experience. I think it looks like a baby acid trip, but she seemed to like it – it was the only thing that made her calm, and I got some AMAZING snuggles while she was watching about 12 minutes worth. Thanks Baby Einstein. πŸ˜‰ Just before 8:00 I finally put her down and she went right to sleep.

8:00-8:30 PM: I check email, my Mastermind community for follow ups to the question I posed earlier, and scrolled Instagram a bit.

8:30 PM: Husband is home! This was an atypical day for us (but what day is typical lol?), but we’re both ready to unwind.

8:30-10:30 PM: Relax, catch up on days/ life, watch TV, put new sheets on the bed (I did a load of laundry at some point during the day and totally forgot to put sheets back on the bed!). Sometimes I work a little in the evenings but I’m trying to set working cut off times for the sake of self care and family time. πŸ™‚

10:30-11:00 PM: Baby is stirring and fussy. I nurse her one more time, then wash face and brush teeth and go to BED!

If you’re a mama or a fellow work at home parent, I would LOVE to hear how your days look! Also, for frame of reference the baby is 9 months old (almost 10 months)…it’ll be interesting to see how these days change as she gets older!
